The Propagation of Errors in Analog Computers
Thomas Franklin Jones, Jr.

An error analysis based on an assumption of differential linearity provides a method of quantitative assessment of the effects of computing- machine errors, and of the effects of approximations used, in solving systems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations.
By considering errors to be functions of the dependent variables, one can write the equations actually solved on the machine; by straightforward processes based on these equations, one can obtain weighting functions by which the propagated effects of any machine or approximation error can be evaluated.
