Jean-Loup Chenot is a former student of the École Polytechnique (X1966) and Doctor of State of Science at the University of Paris VI . He prepared his thesis at the IFP (Institut Français du Pétrole) from 1968 to 1973 and then a research engineer. In 1975, he joined the Ecole des Mines in Paris ( Mines ParisTech ) and the CEMEF (Materials Conditioning Center), which he managed from 1979 to 2008 1 . He is now professor at Mines ParisTech and scientific adviser of CEMEF.
