Bio:

George Kiriakidis obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Salford, UK in 1979. His Ph.D. thesis was on the study of thin films utilizing Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy (SIMS). Since 1981 he is a faculty member in the Department of Physics at the University of Crete. He initialy served as a research fellow and later as Lecturer and Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics / Applied Physics. He was promoted to an Associate Professor in 2009 and to a Professor in 2015. He is also a senior researcher with IESL/FORTH since 1985, and he is the founder and head of the Photonic and Electronic Materials lab, recently renamed to Transparent Conductive Materials (TCM) and devices lab. He retired in 2017.
