M. K. Külmiz Çevik was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1959. He received the B.Sc. degree in 1981 and the M.Sc. degree in 1984 from Boğaziçi University and the Ph.D. degree in 1990 from Istanbul Technical University all in electrical engineering. He held postdoctoral visiting positions at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Center for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI), Amsterdam and Eindhoven University of Technology in 1992, 1993 and 2000 respectively. Between 1982 and 1984 he was a research and teaching assistant at the Electrical Engineering Department of Boğaziçi University. In 1985 he joined the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Istanbul Technical University where he became Assistant Professor in 1990 and Associate Professor in 1996. Since 2006 he has been working at the same department as a Professor of Circuits and Systems. His academic interests are in mathematical system and control theory.
