Bio:

Dr. Andres De Los Reyes received his PhD from Yale University in 2008. He began his career as an assistant professor at the University of Maryland (2008). Within 10 years, Dr. De Los Reyes was promoted up the ranks from associate professor with tenure (2014) to professor with tenure (2018). His over 150 publications include articles in such high-impact peer-review journals as the Psychological Bulletin, Psychological Review, Psychological Assessment, Child Development Perspectives, Annual Review of Clinical Psychology, Clinical Psychology Review, and Clinical Psychological Science. His latest book, Discrepant Results in Mental Health Research (July 1, 2024, Oxford University Press) covers 25 years of his thinking on the topic and over 100 years of research and theory on psychological measurement. His first book, The Early Career Researcher’s Toolbox, received a Presidential Citation from the American Psychological Association (APA). His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the Institute of Education Sciences. Dr. De Los Reyes served as editor-elect (2016) and subsequently as the two-term editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (2017–2026). He was also elected to two terms on the APA’s Board of Educational Affairs (2017–2022) and served as its chair in 2019. Dr. De Los Reyes has received many accolades for his work. These honors include the APA’s Distinguished Scientific Award for an Early Career Contribution to Psychology and the Early Career Psychologist Champion Award, the Society for Research in Child Development’s Early Career Research Contributions Award, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies’ President’s New Researcher Award, the Anastasi Early Career Award from Division 5 (Quantitative and Qualitative Methods) of the APA, and the Early Career Award from Division 29 (Psychotherapy) of the APA. He is also a fellow of both the APA and the Association for Psychological Science. Recently, he served as the Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Mental Health at the University of Regina. Currently, he serves as Chair of the APA's Coalition for Psychology in Schools and Education, as well as Co-Chair of the Joint Committee Leading the Revision of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing.
