February 3, 2012 Martin Lee Sage, died suddenly Friday afternoon, February 3, 2012. He was a Professor of Chemistry at Syracuse University since 1967. Dr. Sage was born and raised in New York City and attended the Bronx High School of Science. He completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University and his master's and Ph.D. at Harvard University in Chemical Physics. He did postdoctoral work at Brandeis University. He had sabbaticals at Tel Aviv University in Israel and Oxford University in Great Britain. Before coming to Syracuse, he was on the faculty at the University of Oregon. His area in theoretical chemistry was high energy vibrational phenomena. He also headed a program in Science Technology and Society.
